The sublime 2019 champagnes from Domaine Vincey have finally arrived.

Champagne Domaine Vincey

Domaine Vincey is another great example of an RC Cooperative business that has transformed into a leading RM grower in the Cote des Blancs. Located in the Grand Cru village of Oger, Domaine Vincey is a new domaine run by a young couple, Quentin and Marine Vincey. Quentin returned to his family domaine in 2014 and Marine joined in 2018, after working in communications and at several Champagne houses. They cultivate 7ha of vineyards across Cote des Blancs, Montagne de Reims, Marne Valley and Cote des Bars. No Herbicides, no pesticides, oak maturation and bottling under cork. Gravity production line. Biodynamic certified. Now in the top 5 producers in the Cote des Blancs.

Domaine Vincey Oger 2019

One year in oak. No malo. Aged on cork. Light gold with a touch of green. The nose is richly complex, with luxurious exotic and almond elements. The oak has integrated superbly adding subtle apple and toffee overtones. Texture, tension and minerality in spades in a gorgeous long fleshy explosive palate. Joy in a bottle. Dosage zero of course, with bottling under cork.

Domaine Vincey Le Mesnil-sur-Oger 2019

Subtle vanilla with coconut overtones, white fruits, and citrus. A blend of the two lieu dits ‘Chemins des Châlons’ and ‘Auge’, which were previously bottled separately in 2018; this cuvée combines aspects of both parcels to give a slightly richer and rounder expression of the two. Severe frosts in 2019 reduced the crop in the two parcels, so a blend was necessary just to create a cuvee. There is crisp green apple, lemon, and chalk on the front end, great texture and warmth through the mid-palate, and always that wonderful balance of fruit and oak that is a hallmark of the Domaine’s philosophy. A saline exotic coconut element finishes the long palate. Dosage zero of course and only available in the mixed 6 pack.

Domaine Vincey Le Grand Jardin Oger 2019

This is the latest release of the first lieu-dit wine created by the Domaine. The grapes come from a small plot directly behind the building. The nose displays tropical fruit, alongside some candied elements and salt. On the palate it’s complex but refined with the oak in the background intermingling with all those classic Chardonnay fruits. There’s great texture and weight and a lovely touch of salinity and citrus on the finish. This is serious stuff. Dosage zero and only available in the mixed 6 pack.

Domaine Vincey Coteaux Champenois Blanc 2020 Oger

Grapes from 4 plots in Oger planted between 1954 and 1972, direct-pressed with whole clusters, fermentation with indigenous yeasts in used barrels. Aged 24 months on the lees in used oak barrels of different sizes. Unfined / unfiltered. A rare still chardonnay (no bubbles) made in strictest burgundian standards. A textural rich white burgundy style, with subtle buttery vanilla overtones and a touch of exotic fruits. Has weight and viscosity. A great STILL wine from great old vines. Only available in the 6 pack.
